Working on the Lord’s Day

As ChristianWAHMs, I think it is very important that we follow the guidelines given to us in the Bible regarding our work. This includes our “business”, house work at home, etc.
In Genesis, it states that God created everything in six days. Then what did He do? He RESTED on the seventh day. In the 10 Commandments, we are COMMANDED to “remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.”
Why is it so hard for ChristianWAHMs to “rest” one day a week? First of all, computers has alot to do with it. It is so easy to log onto the computer after church, after lunch and start getting involved in emails, updating websites, etc. I am guilty of this as well.
What would happen if we left our computers OFF for a day? Or at least, until the sun goes down on the Lord’s Day? Would it kill us? Would we know what to do with ourselves and with our families? Would our children be shocked that we were again available to read to them, talk with them, play games with them? Would our spouses appreciate the effort we take to “remember the Sabbath Day?”
Here’s a challenge - Try it. See what happens. Take a nap on the Lord’s Day, rejuvenate your body. See what happens!
I have enjoyed sharing Christian Quotes via email through my website ChristianQuote.com. Here is a quote in keeping for the Lord’s Day.
“What fitter day to ascend to heaven, than that on which He arose from earth, and fully triumphed over death and hell. Use your Sabbaths as steps to glory, till you have passed them all, and are there arrived.” - Richard Baxter (More on Richard Baxter - Puritan Minister)
